Experience a Cherished Holiday Tradition at Denver Christkindlmarket

By Leisa Taylor Director of Communications & Outreach December 3, 2024

Enjoy a winter wonderland and authentic German-style holiday market in the Mile High City on

Saturday, Dec. 14, without the hassles of driving and parking.

The round-trip excursion from Fort Collins, Experience the Denver Christkindlmarket Tradition, has been organized by the Global Adventures club at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.

“For 23 years, Denver has recreated the joy of strolling through a European village square during the

holidays,” said Barbara Schoenberger, the Museum’s Executive Director. “Participants will experience

our region’s only authentic German holiday market and shop for unique, finely-crafted artisan gifts as

well as enjoy tasty treats sold by local and international merchants in charming wooden huts.”

Reserved tables in the Festival Hall will be available midday, with table service for traditional Germany

food and beverages. The Festival Hall is renowned for its live entertainment and dancing. “It is truly a

magical holiday experience,” Schoenberger added.

The Museum’s Global Adventures offerings focus on learning and sharing information about the world

and the many opportunities to discover, explore, and protect it. Hosts for the adventure will be Alice

and Daniel Owen, who are frequent visitors to the Christkindlmarket.

Participants will meet at the Harmony Park and Ride in Fort Collins at 9 am on Saturday, Dec. 14, to

travel by van to the Denver market, returning to the Park and Ride by 5 pm. Tickets are $60 per person,

and reservations and signed waiver are required by 5 pm Wednesday, Dec. 11. As the Christmas market

is outdoors, registrants should dress for the weather, and participants are asked to bring a cell phone to

maintain contact with the group.

The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to

5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. For more information and closure dates during the change of exhibits,
