Remember with Memorial Day Events

Looking for some ways to honor those who have served our country? 

We have a few ideas.

Fort Collins:

Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado events: 
At south entrance of Spring Canyon Community Park, 2626 W. Horsetooth Road, Fort Collins


Field of Honor: 500 American flags will fly in formation May 26-29, and visitors can walk among the flags and read the medallions attached to them that honor individuals. It's meant to honor veterans, active military members, first responders, medical workers, community leaders, teachers and personal heroes.

Traveling Vietnam Wall: The iconic black panels list the names of the U.S. service members who died or went missing during the Vietnam War.

May 29: A reading of the 58,318 names of American servicemen and women who died will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Each evening, there will be a prayer with honor/color guard, 21-gun salute, piper and Taps.


Grandview Cemetery and Roselawn Cemetery events:

Grandview, 1900 W. Mountain Ave. Fort Collins: 10:15 a.m. Monday, water ceremony and procession to Section S. You can also view the American flags planted at the cemetery by Boy Scout Troop 96, from 3 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Monday.
Roselawn, 2718 E. Mulberry St.: 1:30 p.m. Monday, ceremony


Loveland:

Memorial Day Ceremony of Loveland Burial Park, 1702 N. Cleveland Ave. 10:30 to 11 a.m. The Associated Veterans of Loveland will honor the service of military members.


Mead:

10-2pm Mead Motorheads Memorial Day Car Show 441 3rd St, Mead, CO 80542 The car show is free to the public, and feature classic automobiles, music, vendors, and food!


Windsor: 

9 a.m. American Legion Post 109 will host a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery, at the southwest corner of Colorado highways 392 and 257 (32815 CO-257). Park in the field west of the cemetery.


Remember Closures for May 29th: 

All city/state businesses are closed. 

Fort Collins - Gardens on Spring Creek & city golf courses will keep their regular hours. Museum of Discovery will be closed. Transfort will be operate under holiday service, however Transfort customer service and parking services will not be available.

Loveland - all city businesses such as museum, library, Chilson (limited hours closes at 2pm) etc will be closed. No Colt today either. 

Windsor - Rec center closed along with city and federal businesses.
