By Melissa Shrader Editor Publisher Loveland MacaroniKid December 5, 2022

December is here! That means holidays like Hanukkah (Dec. 18-26), Christmas (Dec. 25), and Kwanzaa (Dec. 26-Jan. 1), along with the first day of winter and New Year's Eve are on the way ... but there's so much more happening this month!

We might just be hungry today, but we decided it was a great time to recognize five of the foodie holidays celebrated in December ... and also highlight the local Loveland businesses that make these foods best:

You don't have to tell us twice! You can find us buying a dozen delicious Chocolate Chip cookies today at Grandma's Mountain cookies to share with the kids ... maybe. Dec. 4

2. Have a Bagel Day

Celebrate this delicious ring of doughy goodness with a trip to Einstein's Brothers Bagels. Get it slathered with cream cheese or try a Farmhouse Breakfast Sandwich or Nova Lox Brunch Box there. And don't forget to "toast" to the great bagel! Dec. 11

3. Cupcake Day

Our favorite place for cupcakes in Loveland? "B" Sweet Cupcakes! Have you tried them there? If not, today's the perfect day to stop for a Vanilla Chocolate Chip cupcake.  Dec. 15

4. Maple Syrup Day

I mean, did you need an excuse to take the kids out for pancakes? If so, this is it! Our favorite breakfast spot for pancakes in Loveland? The Breakfast Club in Loveland. Once you're there? Drench those pancakes in maple syrup and enjoy. Dec. 17

5. Hamburger Day

Is there anything better than a The Legend at Doug's Day Diner? We certainly don't think so! National Hamburger Day is the perfect excuse to take off from a night of cooking and treat the family to dinner out at McGraff's American Grill in Loveland. Yum. Never mind that there seems to be a few Hamburger Days throughout the year ... we choose to celebrate them all! Dec. 21
