Publisher's Note: Spring Has Sprung! Remembrances and New Beginnings.

By Melissa Shrader Editor Publisher Loveland Macaroni Kid March 27, 2022

WELCOME TO PUBLISHER'S CORNER

Happy Spring!

This month is such an amazing month. Seasons are changing. We get snow, rain, and sunny days! We plant our plants and get them ready to put outside soon (depending on the plants - after Mother's Day good). We celebrate so many holidays too.

April is a full month of birthdays for us too! Grandpa, Dad, Kiddo, In-laws and friends. We have a birthdays April 12th, 15th, 16th, and 23rd! Not to mention holidays.

I also have 2 birthday of people who have passed. I'm not sure how everyone else views these birthdays. Do you remove them from the calendar? Do you quietly celebrate them. Grandma passed at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Never having a full funeral. Just a quiet gathering of 7 family members. I would love to have a remembrance day for her. My Uncle passed several years ago but I still celebrate his birthday quietly. It's my way of remembering the good times. Happy memories and the influence these people had on my life.

Have you ever seen the movie" I Still Believe"? It shows how someone can come into your life and change it forever. How they can pass away and leave you with a whole new perspective on everything. Some of the holidays this month celebrate this too.

Autism month for example. Children with autism teach us so much. They come into our lives and our worlds are open to a whole other way of being. Miracles everyday.

Ramadan is observed as a commemoration of Muhammad's first revelation and its annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Gabriel gave 3 deep hugs and changed Muhammad forever. His hug opened up the world of Quran.

Library week and Science week tip a hat to all those who have come before and written moving books and world changing scientific discoveries. Each discovery has changed the world in some way and touches each of us too.

Easter is all about reresection. We remember Jesus' sacrifice and all those who have passed before us. Jesus comes into your life and changes you forever too.

So spring is a time of new beginnings and rebirth. It's also a time of reflection and remembering those who are important to us.
