GIRLS RETREAT!!! Yahoo!

My mother, daughter, and I had a much-needed “Girls Retreat" at Gaylord of the Rockies.

When we pulled up and saw the life-size mustang sculptures galloping across the grass my daughter was awe-struck!

As we passed through the rotating doorway and entered the lobby, we were amazed by all the Pirate décor, chests full of Pirate bootie, and the giant compass on the floor. Young guests dressed in their finest Princess and Pirate attire. And the staff all masked and ready to help in any way we needed.

After we settled in, our first stop was Arapaho Springs and Swimming!

We all loved all the water features and the spiraling waterslides! We relaxed on the 720 foot long lazy river, hung out at one of the private cabanas, and enjoyed the pirate-themed pool party.

This is where we spent most of our time. Indoor and outdoor pools were just what my Mermaid Princess ordered!

This was just the first day after we checked in.

We started our next day with the adventure of searching all throughout the hotel public areas for The Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt. Some of the treasures were truly challenging to find! When we finished our quest and find all the treasures, we turned in our scavenger hunt booklets and received a wonderful prize.

We also created a masterpiece at the Pirate & Princess Art Studio located in the Rocky Grotto. At the end of the day, we enjoyed S'mores around a firepit on the west lawn just outside the Old Hickory Steakhouse.

The Marketplace was our destination for Breakfast and snacks! Arapaho Springs Pool Café was our lunch spot. We were up late one night and enjoyed some munchies at Pinyons. Mountain Pass Sports Bar became our favorite place to hang out for dinner.

The two days we were there were packed with so much entertainment, and we didn’t really even scratch the surface of what there is to do.

We enjoyed the trip and Girl Time to its fullest! We have a list of things we want to do when we return!

When it was time to leave, we felt refreshed, thoroughly entertained, and excited to come back for more!
