This week we celebrate so much Mothers, Cinco De Mayo, and Teachers. So many wonderful things come from each of these.
Cinco De Mayo is the celebration of the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day is also known as Battle of Puebla Day. Cinco de Mayo commemorates a single battle. In 1861, Benito Juárez who was a lawyer and member of the Indigenous Zapotec tribe was elected president of Mexico. The country was in financial ruin after years of internal strife, and the new president was forced to default on debt payments to European governments.
France, Britain and Spain sent naval forces to Veracruz, Mexico, demanding repayment. Britain and Spain negotiated with Mexico and withdrew their forces. However, France, which was ruled by Napoleon III, decided to use the opportunity to carve an empire out of Mexican territory. Late in 1861, a well-armed French fleet stormed Veracruz, landing a large force of troops and driving President Juárez and his government into retreat. On May 5, 1862, Lorencez gathered his army, supported by heavy artillery, and led the assault on the city of Puebla. By the end of the battle France had lost nearly 500 soldiers. Fewer than 100 Mexicans had been killed in the clash. Cinco de Mayo celebrates this victory which began the end of the war which finally ended In 1867—thanks in part to military support and political pressure from the United States, which was finally in a position to aid its besieged neighbor after the end of the Civil War, the result, France finally withdrew.
Teachers, What can we say about teachers? What can't we say about teachers? After this past year, we have a better understanding of what teachers really mean in educating our kids. The measures they go to in order to help our kids learn both in person and at a distance. Whether you are a distance/virtual teacher, an in-person teacher who has worn both virtual and in-person hats, or a parent who has taken this year to teach your child yourself, each and every teacher has stepped up to a level that no one had ever expected. Teachers are more appreciated than ever. We tip our hat to you and to everything you did this year to make it wonderful!
A huge heartfelt Thank you to all teachers.
And to Mom.
Mom was our first teacher, has fought battles for us, has been a nurse, a top supporter, an advocate, a sounding board, a devil's advocate at times, and everything needed to raise great children. To you - all you wonderful caring moms. No matter your gender, your marital situation, your financial situation, no matter what. Mom is the best and toughest job there is. Mom wears every hat there is and does it with style, grace, kindness, and tenderness (and occasionally toughness). We celebrate Mom with love.

What are we up to?
We will be having a Virtual Summer Camp Fair every month this summer. We will be featuring a camp each week for you to learn about. We will Feature Urban Air among others.
Many events have popped up with all the new changes in regards to COVID. Many of the usual events have been reimagined or will not resume again till next year. Keep an eye out I will be verifying events asap and regularly.

Now that COVID has come please comply with the COVID guidelines requested by each establishment and organizer. If you have a question about their policies please contact them directly. COVID Guidelines change regularly too so be sure to make sure that an event is still compliant and that it is not canceled. We will update events regularly however we can't catch everything.
