Find Your Family Fun, With A Few Ways To Liven Up School At Home.

By Melissa Shrader Editor Publisher Loveland Macaroni Kid August 23, 2020

WELCOME TO PUBLISHER'S CORNER!

Some of us have our kids in school and others school is just around the corner! No matter how school looks we all want to mark the first day, pack a good lunch and make things as "normal" as possible. I've heard some great ideas on how to do that at home. If you have online learning or opted to do homeschool or hybrid these few ideas are just here to spark your creativity.

1) Have a schedule. Kids will keep on track easier if a schedule is in place.

2) Pack backpacks like you would for your school day.

3) Pack a lunch or have a place in your fridge for "school lunch"

4) Some are walking around the block or driving around the block....

5) Have a designated school desk/area

6) Have water bottles at the desks so kids don't wander to the kitchen for snacks and drinks

7) Make the day special with a note, a surprise song, a funny joke. Something fun either before the day starts, at lunch, or at the end of the school day.

Remember, it's work but we should not make it stressful.

Most importantly - Kids will make the best of it if they see you make the best of it.

Keep a Watchful Eye!

The calendar will slowly begin to repopulate with in person events and we will keep virtual events too. Many of the usual events we would normally see during the summer have been canceled and will not resume again till next year. Some have just rescheduled. Keep an eye out I will be verifying events asap and regularly.  We will update you as we get information. Most updates will happen on Facebook and here.

Online Events and Gatherings that are open to all are welcome on our calendar. Do you have a virtual class, A virtual event, Something fun for everyone?  Post it on our calendar at  https://fortcollins.macaronikid.com/events/submit
