What to do with extra candy Day After Halloween Brownies

By Melissa Shrader Editor Publisher Loveland Macaroni Kid November 3, 2019

Make leftovers that your family will devour by adding some of the excess candy you gathered when trick or treating to brownie batter for a treat that makes the “Day After Halloween” just as special.

Ingredients

  • Your favorite brownie mix plus all ingredients called for on the box instructions (typically oil, water and eggs)
  • 1½ - 2 cups of Halloween candy, chopped if needed (chocolate works best – mini candy bars, M&Ms, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownie mix as instructed. Then add all but about ¼ cup of the chopped candy to the mix. Stir so all the candy is      incorporated.
  2. Bake as instructed, but remove the brownies from the oven approx. 3-5 minutes before the baking time is finished. Sprinkle the      remaining ¼ cup of candy over the top, pressing it into the brownies slightly, and return to the oven for the remaining 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove brownies from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting.

Enjoy!
