Father’s Day Events For Dad & The Whole Family

By Melissa Shrader Editor Publisher Loveland Macaroni Kid June 9, 2019

First let me tell you that I’ve been working with a few Father’s (over a few years now) and have been asking them “What do you really want for Father’s Day?” The response was overwhelming. Quiet time. Either with or without the kids. Time to just disconnect and swing in a hammock or do something special for just Dad (golf, garden, fish, play video games etc.)  Time just to hang out with the kids. Something unstructured and fun. Find a park or go to a game something to connect with family but not in the usual way. Some Dad’s wanted to do the traditional thing(each had their own traditions from fishing with the family to camping and grilling).  Not one said they wanted a gift of any kind. They all loved cards and time spent together more than a tie or golf/fishing/electronic items. Not to say that a great card and a little gift never hurt anyone but if you are thinking out of the box, maybe take Dad out to the park, give him a card and maybe take a walk around the lake or neighborhood or a hike and just talk? The gift of you is all the Dad’s I talked to truly wants for Father’s day.

Here are some wonderful ways to spend time with Dad this year.
