5 Great Playgrounds in Loveland CO

We are lucky in Loveland to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Loveland parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE!

I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in Loveland.

Fairgrounds Park

700 S. Railroad Ave.
Loveland, CO 80537

What we love about Fairgrounds Park: 

This park has it all. Something for all ages and if you go on Sunday's in the summer you can add in the Farmer's Market! Splash pad, sand pit, slides for littles and larger climbing area and swings for older kids. Don't forget the Museum and the Dog park! You can also play in the river (carefully of course).

Dwayne Webster Veterans Park

What we love about Dwayne Webster Veterans Park: 

Small intamate playground area with plenty of open area to run and play! We love this park for the simple fact that they do a veterans celebration every year that is incredible. You can reserve the pavilion for parties of all kinds.

Namaqua Park

What we love about Namaqua Park: 

Namaqua is one of our favorites because it's a bit off the beaten path, near a river and has a great playground. You can explore the wooded area and find tons of bugs and wildlife. The sound of the river is soothing and great for a family picnic.

Mehaffey Park

What we love about Mehaffey Park: 

Mehaffey offers something for everyone. It's one of the most incredible places for kids to explore. The adventure playground is easy to spend hours at!

North Lake Park

What we love about North Lake Park: 

North Lake has a great playground and the best part? Buckhorn Northern Railroad! It's only open in the summer months but its so fun to ride the train. It's inexpensive and you get a free ice cream cone offer on the back of the ticket. The fire department has a building on site. The Lone Tree School house is nearby too. If you love music the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater is close by too. So is the swim beach. You can also walk across the street to Benson Sculpture Park.
