Banner Health, Lyft to Provide 1,000 Free Rides to Mammogram Appointments  During Breast Cancer Awareness Month Available  in Northern Colorado including Greeley and Fort Collins, riders can download the Lyft app for their complimentary ride.

Banner Health and Lyft are teaming up to provide 1,000 free Lyft rides for mammogram appointments during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These rides will be available in Northern Colorado in Greeley and Fort Collins.

Mammography rates declined between 2000 and 2015, remaining below national cancer screening targets, especially for women.

This statistic, which comes from a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, is surprising considering the presumed increase in knowledge around prevention’s importance. The fact remains that early detection of breast cancer can save lives, and both awareness and access must be stressed to increase the numbers.    “At Banner Health, our mission is making health care easier, so life can be better. We’re proud that we can live out our mission by providing these complimentary rides for women needing assistance. We’re also excited that by offering this incentive, we will help many people take a more proactive approach when it comes to managing their own health,” said Scott Nordlund, Banner Health’s Chief Strategy and Growth Officer.

Gabe Cohen Lyft regional general manager, said of the partnership, “Early screenings are a critical component of breast cancer awareness. We hope that by providing rides, we can remove any barriers to transportation, so passengers can make early detection a priority.”

The 1,000 free rides include transportation to and from up to 500 mammograms in Northern Colorado – in Greeley and Fort Collins.

Once a person has made their mammogram appointment, they can schedule their free ride by downloading the free Lyft app either from the App Store or Google Play and using the following codes:
