I posted on Facebook this weekend about seeing "Cinderella, The Slipper & The Rose" at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse.

Cinderella The Slipper & The Rose is about the "Real" story of Cinderella. So, it's a bit different than you may remember from books and movies. The show is family friendly, child worthy and wonderful! Candlelight Dinner Playhouse hosted a perfect performance. If you've never been to a Dinner Theatre it's a wonderful experience. You begin with dinner and then the performance. About half way through they pause for intermission and dessert is served. You may interact with the actors as they too are the waiters and you get to see them in costume delivering dessert. Then the performance continues.

For our dinner, our daughter had the corn dogs, and we had the prime rib. My daughter doesn't eat much but absolutely loved the corn dogs! For dessert, we had some of the ice cream made by Ice Cream Alchemy made locally in Boulder and the flourless chocolate cake. The food was wonderful for both kids and adults and the flourless chocolate cake is so rich and chocolatey. My daughter gave the chef a 10 out of 10 and my husband and I agree.

The show was heartfelt and fun. The Fairy Godmother was spectacular (Magic stole the show). Of course, Cinderella and Prince Charming were both fantastic too! My daughter loved Cinderella. She cried when Cinderella was sad and was elated when Cinderella was happy! The costumes were wonderful too. My favorite was Cinderella's ball gown. Prince Charming was just as his name suggests! My daughter, fell in love with him and was totally bummed she didn't get to meet him after the performance. The full ensemble was flawless and entertaining. A special shout out to our waiter Scotty Shaffer who played Montague. Awesome in the show and as a waiter!

We truly enjoyed the show and we are looking forward to this 10th year season featuring Meridith Willson's, "The Music Man" was the opening show and Candlelight is proud to bring it back for the 10th season anniversary. This season's great shows are Meridith Willson's "The Music Man", Disney's "Beauty & The Beast", Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate", "Man Of La Mancha", and Finally Disney's "Newsies The Musical".
