Ukraine, Russia, and their Devastating War
will be presented from 1-2:30 pm Saturday, Feb. 24, at the
Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures
by Henry Weisser, Professor Emeritus at Colorado State University.
“The war in Ukraine has fascinated Americans for many months,” said Dr. Weisser. “It has prompted
Americans to ask questions about the fundamental nature of Russia and Ukraine today. What are the
similarities and differences between the two countries? How have they been deeply intertwined in
history? What has been the trajectory of the war, and what can be foreseen about its outcome?”
Dr. Weisser earned his master’s and PhD in history from Columbia University, and he taught history at
CSU for 39 years. A current instructor with CSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Dr. Weisser has
written extensively on British, Irish, and World War II history.
Admission is $5 per person for the presentation at the Museum as well as $5 per Zoom registration.
Reservations are required at globalvillagemuseum.org, and there are two registration links – one for the
in-person program and another for the Zoom. As the in-person portion is expected to sell out, early
registration is recommended. Zoom registrants will receive the Zoom link the day before the program.
The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to
5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Regular admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, $1 for
ages 4-15, and free for children three and under. Adult tours receive discounted admission of $3/person.
